Prayer*Every Sunday, the men of Pacific Hope Church meet at 8 AM, committing this time to praying for the sermon, our messenger, and for those hearing the message. This time of prayer will take place in the Youth Building every Sunday during the first service. As our team grows, we hope to have people praying during second service as well Consider joining us as we come boldly to the throne and lift our pastor and church up in prayer.*

GOD HIMSELF But Jesus would often slip away to the wilderness and pray. - Luke 5:16 In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. - Hebrews 5:17 The surprise of the onlookers lay in this, that one so mighty, so richly endowed with spiritual power, should find it necessary for Himself to repair to the source of strenght, that there He might refresh His weary spirit. To us, the wonder is still greater, that He, the prince of Life, the Eternal word, the Only-begotten of the Father, should prostrate Himself in meekness before the throne of God, making entreaty for grace to help in time of need. HOLY SPIRIT …for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intereceds for us with groaning too deep for words; and He who seraches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedss for the saints according to the will of God. - Romans 8:26,27 PAUL I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone. - 1 Timothy 2:1 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints… SAINTS Prayer is the acid test of devotion. - Samuel Chadwick Work, work from early till late. In fact I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer. - Martin Luther Mastering the art of prayer, like anything else, takes time. The time we give it will be a true measure of its importance to us. We always find the time for important thing. - J. Oswald Sanders Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God. - Colossians 4:12 It is possible to move men, through God, by prayer alone. - Hudson Taylor Prayer move the arm that moves the world to bring deliverance down. A prayerless soul is a Christless soul. Prayer is the lisping of the believing infant, the shout of the fighting believer, the requiem of the dying saint falling asleep in Jesus. It is the breath, the watchword, the comfort, the strength, the honour of a Christian. - Charles H. Spurgeon A prayerless man is proud and independent, and any church that neglects corporate prayer is sadly no better. Only God's humble and needy children take the time to pray. Everyone else is just going through the motions and naively trusting in their own strength! - David Smithers We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results. - R. A. Torrey The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray. Bear up the hands that hang down, by faith and prayer; support the tottering knees. Have you any days of fasting and prayer? Storm the throne of grace and persevere therein, and mercy will come down. - John Wesley Hell is larger today than it was yesterday, because many of us have failed to pray. - David Smithers |
