We are currently set up to accommodate smaller classes on the patio and are working diligently to provide adequate outdoor gathering space for Sunday Worship services, in accordance with the most recent state and county requirements.
Per the latest order by the Governor of California, we are once again subject to closure of our indoor services effective Sunday, July 19. We will continue to livestream the regular Order of Worship, hymns and the sermon at 10:00 am each Sunday going forward until we are able to reconvene as we are accustomed. In the meantime, although it is not a substitute for corporate gathering of the church, we are thankful for the gift of technology that allows us to hear the Word of God preached.
While we know that corporate gathering is essential to the identity of the Church and is irreplaceable in the life of a healthy church, we are also commanded to be in subjection to the governing authorities (Romans 13:1, Titus 3:1). Therefore, in order to honor civil authorities and love our neighbors, Sunday services will revert to our online platforms once again, beginning July 19, 2020 until further notice.
Pray with us that the spread of COVID-19 is contained by these measures. Keep your fellow church members in prayer. Be sure to check up on your neighbors who may be in need.
Above all, may the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified in all that we say and do, as these circumstances “lead to an opportunity for your testimony” (Luke 21:13). Regardless of what we see, regardless of what we feel, Jesus Christ, our loving Savior and Good Shepherd, sits on His throne and rules His universe.
Soli Deo Gloria,
The Elders of Pacific Hope Church
