Invitation to Prayer

"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.  And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."

~ Romans 8:25-26

“There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

(Ephesians 4:4-6)

24-hour Day of Prayer

Even if you missed our specially designated 24-hour Day of Prayer, the throne room is always open!

"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace,

that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

Each day is a day of prayer.  Remember to pray for the life of our church; for wisdom and understanding for our Elders and Deacons; pray also for each other as together we continue to run with endurance the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1).  Above all, pray that in everything we think, say and do we will bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in all circumstances as they "lead to an opportunity for your testimony" (Luke 21:13).

Suggestions for Prayer

Winter 2023

Beloved Pacific Hope Church Family,

We continue steadfast in prayer, giving thanks for the faithfulness and lovingkindness of our Heavenly Father.  We praise Him for the great gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, and for the Holy Spirit who testifies to this Truth.

Pray for the life of our church; for wisdom and understanding for our Elders and Deacons, and also pray for each other that we will continue to run with endurance the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1).  Above all, pray that in everything we think, say and do we will bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in all circumstances as they "lead to an opportunity for your testimony" (Luke 21:13).

We offer the following topics with Scriptures to guide our prayers.

Pray for those in authority, including our Elders. Pray for wisdom and discernment in leadership, rich times of study and devotions, and for physical and spiritual protection (1 Timothy 2:1-2; 1 Kings 3:9; Joshua 1:8; Ezra 7:10).

Pray for our Church. Pray for spiritual growth and maturity, unity in the body, and protection from the enemy (Psalm 19:7-14; Ephesians 5:8-10; Colossians 1:9-14; Ephesians 4:1-6; Romans 12:15-16; Galatians 6:2; 2 Peter 2:1; Matthew 7:15; 1 Peter 5:8).

Pray for our Children and Youth. Pray for personal relationships with Christ, spiritual maturity and boldness for the Gospel, purity in thought and action, parents to train up their children according to the Word (1 Timothy 4:12; Romans 12:1; Deuteronomy 6:7-9; Ephesians 6:4).

Pray for our Volunteers. Pray for service according to gifts and abilities, proper perspective in service, not given to religious activity but neglecting the Word, right handling of the Word, proper rest (Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; Colossians 3:17, 23-24; Ephesians 6:5-7; Galatians 6:9-10; 2 Timothy 3:8-13; Titus 1 & 2; 2 Timothy 2:15; Ephesians 6:19; Exodus 20:8, 31:16; Ezekiel 20:12, 20).

Pray for our Sunday Service. Pray that worship is a means of teaching and spiritual growth; for sound doctrine in teaching, for saving grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ for the unregenerate; for protection and safety for all within our building and property; for proper functioning of technical equipment (Colossians 3:16; Colossians 1:27-29; 2 Peter 3:18).
